Our Volunteer Ambassadors have been making the most of their summer by helping out at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank! Whether it's sorting donations during the week or handing out food on the weekends, they've been all in.
On July 10 and August 1, our amazing volunteers spent time at the food bank’s warehouse. They sorted and organized donations, packed food hampers, and kept things running smoothly behind the scenes. It might not be the most glamorous work, but it’s crucial—and our volunteers know that every box they pack helps get food to families who need it.
July 20th was all about connecting directly with the people the food bank serves. Our volunteers handed out food to individuals and families, making sure everyone left with the supplies they needed. It’s one thing to work behind the scenes, but when you get to see the smiles and hear the ‘thank yous’ from the people you’re helping, it really hits home how important this work is.
We’ve heard so many touching stories from our volunteers about their time at the food bank. Whether it's a simple 'thank you' from a client or seeing the relief on someone’s face, these moments remind us why we do what we do.
Volunteering at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank has been an eye-opener for many of our Volunteer Ambassadors. It’s not just about sorting food or handing out groceries—it’s about being part of a community that cares for one another.
We’re excited to keep this partnership going and would love for more people to join us. If you’re interested in lending a hand, sign up for our Volunteer Ambassadors Program to find out about our next group shifts. Let’s work together to make sure no one in our community goes hungry!
